Walk through an old cemetery at dusk but don't read the tombstones out loud or lingering ghosts will follow you home. 9. Find the haunted hotel nearest you, check in by yourself, and wander the halls at 3:33am. 3. Read about Halloween's origins, reflect on Samhain traditions, and tuck a butcher knife under your pillow for safety. 10. Research your town's infamous murder, go to the place where it happened, and call the restless spirits by name to a séance.* 4. Carve a wicked face on a pumpkin, light it with a white candle, set it at the end of your porch to keep the evil spirits away. 11. Buy a mystical Ouija Board, light a candle, place the planchette on the board and tell yourself it's only a game.* 5. Wait until you're alone, stare into a mirror at midnight, and say "Bloody Mary" three times – wait for your heart to stop. 12. Find a reportedly haunted place (or any very old building), set up a voice recorder and try to communicate with the dead via EVP.* 6. Turn off all the lights and read a scary story to some unsuspecting children. 13. Attempt the boundary-pushing Ganzfeld Experiment but have supervision or suffer the dire consequences.* 7.
